1st Holy Communion Checklist

Preparation is key for such an important event! Here's a checklist for the week of and the night before the 1st Holy Communion:

Week of:

1. Finalize Outfit:  Ensure the communion attire fits well and is clean. Include any accessories like headpieces, veil gloves or umbrella. Try on everything together. For any last minute accessories check out Darcy Bow and My Dress Bridal or your dress shop most have all the accessories needed.

2. Purchase or Prepare Accessories: Buy or prepare any accessories needed such as a jewellery, rosary, prayer book, or a small purse to carry them in. For some of our favourite jewellery pieces check out Ramona Jewellery or Lu and Mol . 

3. Confirm Schedule: Double-check the time and location of the ceremony, and plan travel accordingly.

Night Before:

1. Double-Check Outfit: Lay out the communion outfit along with all accessories to ensure nothing is missing.

2. Prep Hair : Prep hair, wash and dry as advise by hairdresser if needed. 

3. Pack Essentials: Prepare a small bag with essentials like tissues, a small mirror, hair pins, a comb, and any emergency items like band-aids.

4. Snacks and Water: Pack some light snacks and a water bottle for your child to have after the ceremony.

5. Charge Electronics: If you plan to take photos or videos, make sure your camera or phone is fully charged.

6. Review the Day: Go over the plan for the next day.

7. Relax: Encourage your child to relax and get a good night's sleep to be well-rested for the big day.
