A Special August at Pretty Bowtique: Communion 2027, British Vogue, Irish Made Awards & Exciting News

August has been a month I will remember for a long time at Pretty Bowtique.

From releasing new pieces for my Communion 2027 Collection and seeing one of my handmade headpieces featured in British Vogue, to an incredible photoshoot at Cashel Palace and being named a finalist in the Irish Made Awards, there has been so much happening.

I wanted to bring everything together and share some of the highlights, along with a special announcement for September.

A beautiful new Communion 2027 Collection

One of the biggest focuses in the studio recently has been creating new pieces for the Pretty Bowtique Communion 2027 Collection.

Communion season is such an important part of Pretty Bowtique. Every headpiece is designed with the little girl wearing it in mind. I want each piece to look beautiful, but comfort, fit and how it feels to wear for an entire Communion day are just as important.

The new collection includes handmade Communion headbands, flower crowns, floral headpieces, bows and delicate hair accessories for girls. You will find both classic and more detailed designs to complement different Communion dresses and hairstyles.

Each piece is handmade here in Ireland, with careful attention given to the little details that can make a Communion outfit feel complete.

If you are beginning to plan for First Holy Communion 2027, now is a lovely time to start looking at hairstyles and deciding whether your daughter would prefer a Communion headband, flower crown, bow or another style of Communion headpiece.

A dream photoshoot at Cashel Palace

Another August highlight was our photoshoot at the beautiful Cashel Palace in Co. Tipperary.

This was such a special setting to photograph some of our Communion hair accessories alongside beautiful Darcy Bow dresses.

I was delighted to work with Daven Casey Photography, Sugar Coated by Lisa, Celine from Kiki Creative and Darcy Bow to bring everything together.

Seeing the finished looks in such a beautiful location was a special moment for me. These photographs also give parents a chance to see how Pretty Bowtique Communion headpieces look when styled with a complete Communion outfit.

Pretty Bowtique featured in British Vogue

This month also brought one of those moments that felt a little surreal.

Pretty Bowtique has been featured in British Vogue.

One of my Abigail headpieces appeared in the magazine, something I am incredibly proud of as an Irish designer and small business owner.

Pretty Bowtique began at my kitchen table in 2017, making bows for my own daughters. To see one of my handmade children's hair accessories featured in Vogue years later is something I could never have predicted when I started.

It is also lovely to see Irish handmade design and children's occasion accessories represented on that platform.

Irish Made Awards finalist

August brought more exciting news when Pretty Bowtique was selected as a finalist in the Kids category of the Irish Made Awards.

Supporting Irish-made products and keeping the handmade element at the heart of Pretty Bowtique has always mattered to me.

Every order supports an Irish small business and allows me to continue designing and making children's hair accessories here in Co. Tipperary.

If you have supported Pretty Bowtique over the years, purchased one of my pieces or followed the journey online, I would be so grateful for your vote in the Irish Made Awards.

Sharing the Pretty Bowtique story

I also recently had the pleasure of recording a podcast with Annmarie from Woman's Wellbeing.

We chatted about my journey with Pretty Bowtique, business, life and some of the experiences that have shaped the business along the way.

I am looking forward to sharing the episode with you when it is released.

And finally, a special announcement...

I promised my newsletter subscribers that they would hear this news first.

On September 19th and 20th, I will be joining Darcy Bow at their pop-up event at Cashel Palace as a Meet the Maker.

I am so excited to return to Cashel Palace, this time to meet customers in person.

If you are planning a Communion for 2027, this will be a lovely opportunity to see Pretty Bowtique Communion headpieces and hair accessories in person, look at the different styles and find a piece to complement your daughter's Communion look.

I would love to meet some of you there.

Thank you for being part of Pretty Bowtique

When I look back at everything that happened during August, I feel incredibly grateful.

From creating the new Communion 2027 Collection in my studio in Tipperary to Cashel Palace, British Vogue, the Irish Made Awards and new collaborations, it has been a busy and exciting month.

Most importantly, Pretty Bowtique continues to be about creating special pieces for special days.

Thank you to every customer who orders, recommends Pretty Bowtique, shares a post, sends me photographs or chooses one of my handmade hair accessories for an important family occasion.
